Design Website for home improvementsAhead Loft Ladders is a well respected loft ladder installer based in Worthing and offering services around Hampshire and Sussex.

They also fit loft boards, loft hatches, loft insulation and roof windows. They also offer woodworm treatments.

The business was established in 2012 and VZN Studios's team has known David for over 10 years.

Website Redesign

David from Ahead Loft Ladders had his old website designed over 10 years ago, with the maintenance provided by the hosting company. Our designer Shaun got to know David at this company and helped work on his minor website updates and SEO.

David had become disheartened with the service provided by the above company, so he approached VZN after hearing how happy Owen The Locksmith was with our work. Plus he already knew he could rely on Shaun's website skills and exceptional customer service.

Shaun completely redesigned the website, bringing it up to modern standards. Some of the improvements included:

  • Website framework optimisation
  • Vastly improved mobile view
  • New photos chosen, edited & updated
  • Content completely rewritten
  • Customer journey vastly improved
  • FAQs rewritten and expanded upon
  • YouTube channel better promoted
  • Services better researched & improved

Online Marketing

Organic SEO

David had reasonably good rankings already in his local areas, but there was room for improvement. We needed to ensure he maintained his rankings for searches like Loft Ladder Installer in Bognor or Loft Insulation Chichester whilst improving the site overall.

We replaced the localised landing pages from his previous provider, with various improvements to ensure he stays in line with the competition:

  • Addition of schema markup to improve localisation
  • FAQs edited to appeal better to Google's Rich Results
  • Page content tweaked to be more SEO-friendly
  • Meta titles and descriptions fully optimised
  • Locations edited to include missing areas
  • Brand new 'Loft Boarding' landing pages added

The results are already showing, with the website's 'average position' at its highest ever.

The page layout is also better tailored to encourage longer visits and give more information to potential customers.

Logo Amendment

David's existing company logo has been the same since he setup the business, however the original files had been lost over the years.

This gave us the opportunity to make some subtle, but effective tweaks to the design. We didn't want to change anything major, since his brand is established and recognised.

Shaun added a shadow to give the ladder shape a slight three-dimensional aspect, then updated the font to match the one used on the new website.

The result is a subtle, but effective improvement.
